Escalated documents

Escalated documents are evidence for skills flagged as sensitive enough that only privileged administrators may sign them off. When one is uploaded, GSA emails those administrators, and a regular approver who handles ordinary documents cannot action it.

This guide covers:

  • Flagging which skills require their evidence to be escalated
  • Notifying the administrators who hold the escalated-approval privilege on upload
  • Restricting sign-off to those administrators, not a regular approver
  • Recording the approved escalated document as a training record like any other

Reserve escalation for your most sensitive credentials and you keep their sign-off in the hands of the few people you trust with it.

💡 Power User Insight: An escalated document waits until a privileged administrator acts — there is no time-out or auto-escalation beyond the notification email — so keep that group staffed, or sensitive approvals can sit pending.
