How requirements are worked out (TNA)

A Training Needs Analysis (TNA) is the configuration that decides which skills a worker must hold. GSA works out each worker’s personal list from their profile — site, role, crew and employment type — against your per-site requirements structure. It is the engine that drives both onboarding and ongoing compliance.

This guide covers:

  • Defining, per site, which skills each role, crew and employment type requires
  • Producing each worker’s personal list of required documents and courses from their profile
  • Asking for a skill only once where more than one part of a workflow requires it
  • Recomputing the list when a worker’s job detail changes

Set the requirements once and every worker’s obligations follow automatically from who they are and where they work.

💡 Power User Insight: Because requirements flow from the profile, changing a worker’s role or crew recomputes what they must hold — and any new mandatory document resets them for re-approval, so plan role moves with that in mind.
