How training events work

Events are the scheduled sessions — induction days, familiarisation, corporate training and classroom assessments — that GSA runs end to end, from a published session with enforced capacity through to the training records it earns. It turns an induction day’s logistics into a clean compliance record without re-keying.

This guide covers:

  • Setting up a venue, date, capacity, session type and the skills an event teaches
  • Booking workers in during onboarding, once their profile for the site is approved
  • Sending the configured emails automatically as each booking changes status
  • Marking attendance by card scan or by hand on the day
  • Recording outcomes per skill and closing the event so attainments land as training records

Configure an event once and the schedule fills itself, with a dated record of who attended and what they attained.

💡 Power User Insight: A seat can’t be held until a worker’s profile for the site is approved, so limited induction capacity is never consumed by anyone whose documents aren’t signed off.
