Gallagher access control

Gallagher is GSA’s second access-control integration, built and delivered but with no site currently running it. It provisions cards outbound only: GSA pushes the worker’s cardholder record so the card tracks their status, but Gallagher feeds nothing back.

This guide covers:

  • Pushing the full cardholder record — identity, job title, card type and access groups per workflow
  • Translating skill attainment into the access levels Gallagher applies
  • Keeping the card current as a worker’s status changes
  • Recognising the scope: outbound only, so presence, fatigue and exposure-hours do not apply

It keeps cards aligned to compliance state for a site standardised on Gallagher hardware.

💡 Power User Insight: A lapsed skill updates the card on the worker’s next change event, not on a timer — revocation is eventually consistent. An emergency revocation is done in the Gallagher system directly.
